We’ve been busy here at SafeBase this month, attending both the RSA Conference in San Francisco and the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit in the D.C. area, all while completing our SOC 2 audit. We were ecstatic to not just be attendees of the conferences, but also exhibitors for the first time in our company’s history. For the first time in a while, we were able to enjoy face time with other leaders in the industry and had the chance to all learn from one another. In addition, we gained valuable insight into the latest trends in risk management and cloud security. To learn is to grow!
RSA Conference 2022

RSA is an annual conference attended by cybersecurity professionals around the globe. It is known to be where the world talks security. And that’s exactly what we did! We had a booth at the Early Stage Expo, where we had the opportunity to meet with existing customers, advisors, and prospects who had not yet run into a SafeBase Trust Center.
The team spoke to hundreds of folks about SafeBase and our most innovative feature, our public-facing Trust Center.
We also had the pleasure of hosting a very successful book signing for Chris Castaldo, CISO of Crossbeam, and gave away 100 signed copies of his book “Start-Up Secure: Baking Cybersecurity into your Company from Founding to Exit.”

Gartner Summit

Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit in the D.C. area is an annual conference aimed to teach the latest and greatest in cybersecurity. One of our very own, Kevin Qiu, Director of Information Security, was a guest speaker. He.presented at the first-ever live version of Gartner Pitch Tank and demonstrated the SafeBase platform’s capabilities to 400+ CISOs.
Kevin also had the opportunity to meet with a variety of other security vendors and CISOs of leading enterprises. Here are some of the common discussions from his conversations with other security professionals at Gartner:
- Continuous monitoring of third-party vendors is becoming top of mind for CISOs
- Third-party risk is still a major problem in the industry (as always)
- Compliance automation is becoming increasingly more common, with new solutions sprouting up in the market at a rapid pace
- Lack of CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) adoption and enforcement despite the initial fervor when the standard was first announced
Upcoming Events
This was a successful and accomplished month for SafeBase, to say the least. It is so exciting whenever there is an opportunity to collaborate with other organizations in the security space or to meet customers face to face for the first time. Most of all, we love sharing our passion for the SafeBase product with others. SafeBase will be in Las Vegas attending Black Hat in August, and we will have a booth at SaaStr in San Francisco in September. We look forward to seeing you all there!
