Recently, SafeBase team members from across the globe took a break from their home offices to converge upon the city of Chicago for an unforgettable company offsite. This event was more than just a meeting; it was an opportunity to collaborate, bond, and reignite our shared commitment to the SafeBase mission.
SafeBase Team, Unite!

Our offsite began with a deep dive into SafeBase's history, mission, and values, presented by our co-founders Al and Adar. This presentation gave us, especially newer team members, a comprehensive understanding of our roots and the ideals that continue to drive us forward.
We revisited the ideas behind SafeBase's founding, charted our growth trajectory over time, and then segued into discussions about our future.
Another exciting part of our offsite was getting to know the diverse functional teams within SafeBase. Several teams, including our talented Security team, presented on their roles and responsibilities, giving us a peek into the day-to-day of our colleagues. Breakout sessions for Engineering / Product and Go-To-Market teams allowed team members to talk face-to-face with one another about upcoming projects and overall strategies—a refreshing change from our normal Zoom routine!
Unleashing Our Creativity: The SafeBase Hackathon

Perhaps the most exciting part of our time together was the SafeBase hackathon. This event stirred up the competitive spirit within us, and yet, it was an exercise in collaboration. We formed cross-functional teams, with each team tasked with devising fresh solutions to customer problems. The hackathon produced some great ideas, which may soon become part of the SafeBase platform.
Exploring The Windy City

Of course, our offsite wasn't all work and no play. Embracing the Chicago culture, we indulged in some of the city's most beloved foods. The deep-dish pizza and Chicago-style hot dogs were definite crowd-pleasers.
The city of Chicago, with its rich history and gorgeous architecture, served as an incredible backdrop to our offsite. After a lively scavenger hunt, we embarked on an architecture boat tour, marveling at the city's skyline and soaking in stories of its historic buildings. And when I say "soaking," I mean it, since we were all drenched by a sudden downpour! These excursions were a great way for team members to connect with each other outside the confines of work.
Building Bonds and Making Memories

One of the highlights of the offsite was the fun team bonding activities we participated in. A lively game of SafeBase trivia and "Two Truths and a Lie" challenged our perceptions of our colleagues and unveiled interesting aspects of their lives outside of work.
We even hit the lanes for some friendly bowling competition and ping-pong. The event was filled with high fives, laughter, and lots of SafeBase spirit.
A Week to Remember

Our Chicago offsite was a mix of engaging conversation, brainstorming, problem-solving, and fun-filled team building. Now that we're back in our home offices, we carry with us a renewed sense of purpose, a deeper understanding of our company and our colleagues, and many treasured memories.
This offsite reminded us that while SafeBase may operate remotely, our spirit of collaboration and commitment to our mission connects all of us, no matter how many miles apart we might be. I think I speak for the team when I say "I can't wait for next year!"
